A congregation’s charism is a gift of the Holy Spirit received by the founder and handed over to the congregation he or she founded. St. Dominic Guzman, who is devoutly addressed as “the Light of the Church” (Lumen Ecclesiae) because of his enlightening preaching and teaching, founded an Order at the beginning of the 13th century for the preaching of the Word of God, which is known as Order of Preachers (Dominicans).
The heart of the Dominican charism is preaching the Word of God for the salvation of souls. We proclaim the Word of God by preaching the Word of God through retreats and other faith-formation programmes. “The Dominican Sisters of the Holy Trinity” belong spiritually to the Dominican family and live this charism through a contemplative life in the community and by sharing the fruits of our contemplation through preaching and various apostolates. In solidarity with the Church’s prophetic mission and following the path of St. Dominic, we dedicate ourselves to the cause of Evangelization of the different parts of the subcontinent.
We also preach the Gospel by witnessing through various types of ministries.
We offer our service to human society, by teaching in schools, and institutions for the differently abled and render our service for the sick by working in hospitals and health centres. We are also involved in parish pastoral ministries by animating the pious associations, teaching catechism, and visiting and praying in the families. We render our services, especially for the poor and the marginalised.
We also promote devotion to the most Holy Rosary. Our apostolic activities flow from contemplation of the Word of God and devotion to the Blessed Mother. We concentrate on the apostolic services in the footsteps of the joyful friar St Dominic our Holy Father, according to the needs of time and the concerns of the Church.
